People helping people.  Reaching out to those around us that need our help.  Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church is committed to taking care of those that need us, the best way we can.  Below are some of our most recent efforts.
Local Mission Outreach:

GetAttachmentExtended Hands Food Bank-Collecting & delivering non-perishable food and monetary donations every Sunday.  We also volunteer at their Friday Fish Fry on the first Friday of every month.  Lastly, we collect frozen turkeys to donate at Thanksgiving.

Max’s Closet-Clothes and household items are collected and taken here, an affiliate of the E.H.F.B. , to help people in dire need with some basics.

S.W.A.T.T.-(“Servants With A Task and Testimony”)  The Mission Committee at Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church has recently formed a community-wide mission group to better assist in handling our town’s needs.  We share information at a monthly meeting to discover ways to help one another, as we help those in need.

Pockets Full Of Hope-Loose change is collected on Sundays to help E.H.F.B. in their operating costs.

School Supplies-At summer’s end, school supplies are collected for Fountain Hills elementary students to help give them what they need to start the school year prepared.GetAttachment1

Angel Tree-At Christmastime, clothing and gifts are gathered for local children in need to help them have a blessed Christmas.

Trendsetters-Arizona tax credit donations go towards a weekly afterschool leadership program for children in grades 4-6.  Trendsetters is based out of Fountain Hills Charter School.

“Weekender Bags” Project-FHPC Mission has contributed money quarterly to help fund food bags for local children in need so that they may have some sustenance during the weekends.  In conjunction with another local church and our own Presbyterian Women’s groups, volunteers go to AZ BrainFoods to help pack these bags once a month.

FHPC Youth Mission Trip Sponsor-Mission has supported youth in their different missions over recent years; the Navajo Reservation leading a Vacation Bible School and participation at the Trinnium at Purdue University are the most recent to have our support.

Around The Valley Outreach:

Fort McDowell Christmas Project-We partner with Fort McDowell Presbyterian Church at Christmastime by donating gifts for other Native
American churches and chapels

Changing Lives Center-This is the women & children counterpart of the Phoenix Rescue Mission.  Previously, we brought music back into their lives through the purchase of CD players and many, many CD’s.  We also give small gifts to them at Christmas and Easter each year.  As they try to rebuild their lives, we try to soften their world with a little holiday love.

State of Arizona:

Montlure Camp-Financial donations for the ongoing needs of this Presbyterian camp located in the White Mountains, in addition to providing scholarship funds for the youth of FHPC.

International Mission Outreach:

Special Offerings-Annually hold special offerings for mission work throughout the year to include: One Great Hour of Sharing, Tools of Hope & Blanket Sunday, Christmas Joy, and Pentecost Offerings.

Basic Mission Support-A portion of monies received from church pledges, contributions, and loose offerings is sent to support the mission work of the Presbytery of the Grand Canyon, Synod of the southwest, and General Assembly levels within the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Presbyterian Disaster Relief-Monies raised for this fund go to support disasters both nationally and internationally.

Mission Meetings:

The committee meets on the second Monday of the month at 1:00pm, in the Office conference room.  Please join us!  You are encouraged and invited to be a part of all that we do!
